University of Glasgow

Glasgow City, Scotland

The talents of some of the UK’s most influential political figures have been nurtured here. Award-winning writers have developed their craft. Human rights activists have gained their voice. We are a place that inspires ambitious people to succeed. A place where inquiring minds can develop their ideas. A place where talented people are given the space to realise their dreams.

Facilities

Glasgow offers a modern learning environment across three locations.

Our main Gilmorehill campus is in the leafy west end of Glasgow, three miles from the city centre. The campus features more than 100 listed buildings, including our iconic University spire. Currently, we are engaged in a £1bn programme of investment in facilities here, beginning with the construction of a Learning and Teaching Hub.

Four miles away, Garscube campus hosts our Vet School, four research institutes and additional sports facilities.

Our third campus is in Dumfries in the south west of Scotland. It is home to our School of Interdisciplinary Studies.

Accommodation

Most new full-time students and all new international students are guaranteed accommodation (subject to our admissions policy). We have options for undergraduates in six student residences and options for postgraduates in four residences. All are in convenient locations within walking distance of our main campus.

Fees range from around £120 per week to around £145 per week. Benefits include:

  • Group insurance cover for your belongings
  • Automatic membership of the University’s sport and recreation facilities
  • Wi-Fi in all bedrooms
  • Managed on-site coin-operated laundries

Lifestyle

Glasgow is the UK’s fourth largest city, and has a population of more than 60,000 students, so it has loads to offer you.

It is the UK’s first UNESCO City of Music – with more than 130 gigs each week – and it has been named the world’s friendliest city by Rough Guides. Locals are celebrated for their welcoming attitude.

Packed with cultural attractions, impressive architecture, fantastic shopping and a year-round programme of events and festivals, it’s easy to fall in love with this city when it loves you back.
