We have six well-equipped student residences with more than 2,300 fantastic study-bedrooms, right in the city centre and only a short walk from the main campus. There’s a really sociable atmosphere at the residences, plus a great sense of student community.


For students with disabilities or special needs, the residences can provide anything from vibrating pillows for the deaf to hoists and purpose-built rooms for wheelchair users.


As well as a room to call your own, you get access to fully equipped shared kitchens and free WiFi included. All of our residences have 24/7 support from our dedicated on-site residence team.




With an active Students' Union and a strong international presence, Solent gives you the chance to broaden your horizons, try new sports and experiences, and meet people form cultures and countries all across the globe.


There are over 50 societies at Solent University from photography to religious beliefs and DJ to languages.

With over 30 teams competing nationally and internationally, students take part in traditional sports including football, cricket, and netball as well as alternative sports such as windsurfing, snowboarding and climbing.
